Katie Owens is a passionate leader who currently serves as the Senior Director of Engagement for the Iowa Primary Care Association, INConcertCare, and IowaHealth+. Katie's experience at the Iowa PCA spans over 14 years in communications, advocacy, and policy roles. With a sharp focus on transforming healthcare, Katie drives strategic communications, policy, and advocacy efforts across these three impactful organizations. Her dedication to serving medically underserved communities has been recognized with the 2024 Iowa Primary Care Association Exceptional Network Support Award, the 2024 Iowa Public Health Heroes Award, and the 2016 Emerging Leader Award from the prestigious George Washington University Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy.

Katie completed the Community Health Center Executive Fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2014, further solidifying her expertise in community health center leadership. Before transitioning to healthcare, Katie honed her skills in marketing within professional and collegiate athletics, bringing a unique blend of strategy, communication, and creativity to her work today. Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa, with a double major in Journalism and Sport Studies.
