Systems Analyst - Des Moines, IA

The Systems Analyst will work with business end-users, leadership and technical teams to define business requirements, support system selection, implementation and maintenance. In this capacity, this role will define technology requirements in alignment with business needs. 

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Identify, analyze and define business requirements, technology specifications and total cost of ownership for new and existing technology systems.
  • Manage major application updates and new application implementation projects in coordination with application support and consultant teams.
  • Support system configuration, design and build functions as needed in coordination with consulting teams
  • Review, analyze and evaluate system effectiveness and costs of existing technologies
  • Work closely with the Application Support team on IT related projects and Tier 3 support requests needed.
  • Maintain working knowledge on industry trends, technologies and developments to support strategic plan initiatives and security/data protections
  • Develop procedures and support documentation to support change management, operational efficiencies and/or compliance and regulatory requirements.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum bachelors degree in information technology and/or business related subject like health sciences/administration or related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledgeable and experience procuring, implementing and supporting complex software applications
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • High analytical skills, language and reasoning ability. Excellent business acumen.
  • Demonstrated experience providing strong customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and procedure manuals.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. 

Reporting Skills:
Ability to create reports for board meetings and other IT related occurrences. Basic knowledge of report writing is required.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work with members who may not have thorough computer or technical skills.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including spreadsheets, word processing, and databases. Experience in Windows applications and basic networking and troubleshooting skills are a plus, but not required.
