Iowa Primary Care Association Emerging Programs Manager

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Emerging Programs Manager will report to the Senior Director of Transformation and will be responsible for program management to include day to day contract management and oversight, planning, overseeing budget expenditures and financials, establishing innovative programs and services, collecting and reporting data, and ensuring contract deliverables are met. Specifically, program support and leadership will be provided for emerging program initiatives at the Iowa PCA as needed. Some travel required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Provide programmatic and administrative support as detailed below:
    • Program management support for social determinants of health initiatives.
    • Program management support for Veterans Affairs initiatives.
    • Program management support for Iowa Association of Rural Health Clinics.
    • Program management support for new programming needs that arise based on the priorities and goals of the Iowa PCA and its health center members.
  • Responsible for establishing work plans, monitoring specific contracts and grants for the Iowa PCA, including coordinating reporting, establishing timelines, and ensuring reports are completed and submitted as requested.
    • Use of electronic project management systems such as SharePoint or other systems adopted by the Iowa PCA.
  • Work with the leadership team on revenue diversification, including:
    • Monitoring and reviewing new funding opportunities for both the Iowa PCA and its member health centers that complement existing missions and programs.
  • Coordinate and track applications, progress reports and other submissions for the HRSA PCA grant and other grants as needed.
  • Serve as point of contact for the Iowa PCA’s Health Resources and Services Administration Project Officer and coordinates monthly meetings.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor of Arts degree plus five years of experience in program management
  • Excellent administrative skills required to manage work on a variety of programs with varying deadlines and program responsibilities
  • Must possess proficient writing skills
  • Experienced in public speaking
  • Experienced working with groups
  • Experience in public or nonprofit settings preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with organization leadership, health center staff, clinicians, community leaders, and government officials
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated and a team-player
