Who We Are

Since 1988, the Iowa Primary Care Association (Iowa PCA) has provided technical assistance and training to Iowa’s community health centers to support their ongoing commitment to provide quality, affordable primary and preventive health care to meet community needs. We are a non-profit membership association comprised of 13 community health centers and one migrant health program and are recognized as the trusted voice on healthcare, particularly concerning under-resourced populations. These organizations collectively support nearly 245,000 Iowans each year through over 810,000 patient visits

Our work focuses on our mission of enhancing community health centers’ capacity to care with a vision of equity for all. Learn more about Iowa’s community health centers.

Data & Systems

As a leader in the health care community, we are developing innovative approaches to ensure high quality care is delivered in a cost-effective manner. Additionally, we focus on the social drivers that affect our patients’ overall health such as lack of transportation, food insecurity, housing, etc. We are building a health system that will lead to a healthier Iowa though expanded access in rural and urban areas, workforce recruitment and retention, increased health coverage, and patient directed care that ensures the right care is provided at the right place and the right time.

Training & Technical Assistance

The Iowa PCA is committed to providing leadership and assistance to Iowa’s community health centers in numerous ways including: clinical quality, performance improvement, oral health, routine screening, special populations, communications, outreach and enrollment, policy and advocacy, billing and finance, and much more.
