Provider Spotlight: Jaime Flanscha, PMHNP

July 01, 2021

Over the last year, the Iowa PCA Recruitment Center placed 25 providers at community health centers across the state. Jaime Flanscha, PMHNP is one of those providers and was recruited by Angela Benjegerdes, our Recruitment Specialist. Learn more below about why Jaime chose to practice at Peoples Community Health Clinic.

What made you decide to work for a community health center?

I was not planning on working at a community health center, but when I saw the resources, support, and collaboration available to me and my patients, I couldn’t say no. It was always a dream of mine to work at a clinic with primary care providers, therapists, and outreach services that could attend to all of my patients' needs. That is what I found at Peoples Clinic and I could not be happier with my choice.

Why should others choose a community health center?

The great thing about working at a community health center like Peoples Clinic is that the focus is always on the patient. There is amazing collaboration and resources including homeless outreach, nutritionists, health coaches, pharmacy staff, substance abuse counselors, and therapists. We all have the same goal of helping the patient achieve the best possible outcome every single day, and that is amazing.

What keeps you coming to work every day at Peoples Clinic?

I believe in People's Clinic’s mission to provide access to affordable, compassionate, high quality healthcare to all. I also have amazing co-workers and patients. Those things are what keeps me coming to work every day.
