Billing & Collections Manager

Position Details

  • Manage and lead staff and day-to-day functions of medical and dental billing and departments.
  • Maintain and implement annual fee schedule, semi-annual ICD-10 and CPT codes updates and generate annual poverty guidelines for medical and dental departments.
  • Coordinate and maintain new medical and dental provider statistical information.
  • Formulate and produce medical and dental monthly encounter, user, billing, payment, and claim reports.
  • Produce and submit quarterly Medicare Credit Balance report.
  • Monitor and implement mandated payor billing guidelines and reimbursement requirements.
  • Develop and maintain all medical and dental insurance carrier contracts.
  • Maintain, update, and implement collection and billing processes and procedures, bad debt write-offs, patient statements and returned mail.
  • Assist will implementation of Practice Management System upgrades, including training and staff education. 
  • Assist CFO with annual audit.
  • Hours: M-F 8 AM – 5PM + additional hours as needed

Education and Experience:

  • 2-year post high school education or 4 years specific equivalent training.
  • Certified Provider Coder preferred.
  • Advanced computer, data entry, math skills including excel and word.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Five years supervisory experience.
  • Four years’ experience with commercial insurance, Medicare (T18), Medicaid (T19) and collections required.
  • Knowledge of EOB processing.
  • Electronic claim submissions experience including EDI submission for carriers and 835/837 claims processing.
  • Billing software experience, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.
